Los Angeles, CA — Authorities are on the hunt for the driver of a Lamborghini involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash in the Hancock Park neighborhood early Monday morning.

The collision occurred just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of 1st Street and Highland Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the Lamborghini was traveling northbound on Highland when it collided with a Toyota SUV headed eastbound on 1st Street.

Video footage from the scene showed the Toyota severely damaged, spun around with its front end resting atop a large boulder. Emergency responders arrived to find two victims inside the SUV — a man and a woman — both suffering from major injuries.

The female passenger was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The male driver remains in critical condition, according to LAPD Officer Cervantes.

The driver of the Lamborghini reportedly abandoned the vehicle at the scene and fled on foot, triggering a full-scale hit-and-run investigation. As of now, no description of the suspect has been released to the public.
